He was born in Lineville, IA, on June 17, 1934, the son of Fred and Margaret [Spencer] Bardwell. He was united in marriage at Corydon, IA, on August 28, 1954, to Leona Bellon, who survives him. He received his education in the Princeton area. He was an auctioneer and co-owner of Leona's Place in Centerville since moving from Hampton, IA, in 1992. Survivors include his wife, Leona of Centerville, IA; two daughters, Vicki Jacobs and special friend John Birdwell, Linda and husband Dean Kanselaar, all of Centerville, IA; six grandchildren; two brothers, Carl of Idaho, and Junior of Corydon, IA; four sisters, NancyLee Johnson of Ravanna, Dixie Stark of Mercer, Lois Porter, Caldwell, ID, and Mary Ann Clark of Moravia, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Bobby and Howard "Dick". and one sister. Betty. Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 6, 1994, at the Schmidt-Duley Funeral Home in Centerville with Rev. Donnell officiating. Burial was in the Corydon Cemetery. A memorial may be given to the family or left in his name at the Schmidt-Duley Funeral Home.
