Earnest Floyd Kauffman was born October 1, 1913, to L.A. and Nettie Kauffman at Kenmare, ND. In 1916 his family moved to Coalridge, MT, and attended Elementary School there. Read More	Earnest passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at the Colonial Haven Nursing Home in Beemer, NE. Earnest Floyd Kauffman was born October 1, 1913, to L.A. and Nettie Kauffman at Kenmare, ND. In 1916 his family moved to Coalridge, MT, and attended Elementary School there. He was baptized in 1924 by J.M. Kreider. He attended High School in Surrey, ND. In 1934 he worked in Oregon and California until he went to Hesston College in Hesston, KS. Following his college days he spent four years in Civilian Public Service in Colorado Springs, and Ft. Collins, CO; Glacier National Park in MT and Mercer County, PA. He went on to Wayne State College for teachers training and taught in rural schools in Nebraska for 17 years. In 1965 he attended Wichita State University to get training in Speech Pathology. He then taught speech therapy in the West Point School System for 12 years. On May 24, 1944 he was united in marriage to Lois Grieser in the Plum Creek Mennonite Church at Beemer, NE. To this union three sons were born: Dennis, Jay Fred and Don. In 1946, he was ordained as Deacon in the Beemer Church. He held several offices in the Iowa-Nebraska Conference. He was ordained to the ministry in 1973 and as Pastor in 1979. He later served as interim pastor at White Chapel in Glendive, MT, for two years. Following that time he retired in West Point, NE. Earnest enjoyed traveling to Montana and Oregon for family reunions. He enjoyed visiting Fred in Puerto Rico and Minh and Fred in Guatemala and Thailand. Survivors include- Wife-Lois Kauffman of Beemer, NE Sons- Dennis Kauffman and Judy Georges of San Jose, CA Jay Fred and Minh Kauffman of Philadelphia, PA Don Kauffman of Omaha, NE 2 Grandsons- Anthony and Timothy Kauffman 3 Sisters- Belle and Jim Mullet of Drake, Saskatchewan Lucille and Cliff Eichelberger of Nampa, ID Nellie and Bob Mishler of Brush Prairie, WA In-Laws- Louis and Becky Hargis of Canon City, CO Rose Wittrig of Harrisonville, MO Dale and Grace Grieser of West Point, NE Earnest was preceded in death by his parents, brothers-Leslie, Clayton, Roy, Clifford, Morris and Fred, sisters-Dorothy and Civilla, and in-laws-Joseph, Allan, Mattie and Clarice.
