Description	:	Earnest George Ahrenholtz (1914 - 1989) Earnest George Ahrenholtz was born Dec. 28, 1914, at Buck Grove, Ia., the son of George and Sophie Hulsebus Ahrenholtz. He was raised on the family farm and received his education in the rural schools. On Dec. 14, 1941, Earnest was united in marriage with Cecelia Buchanan at her family home south of Denison. Read More	Earnest George Ahrenholtz (1914 - 1989) Earnest George Ahrenholtz was born Dec. 28, 1914, at Buck Grove, Ia., the son of George and Sophie Hulsebus Ahrenholtz. He was raised on the family farm and received his education in the rural schools. On Dec. 14, 1941, Earnest was united in marriage with Cecelia Buchanan at her family home south of Denison. They made their home on the Ahrenholtz family farm at Buck Grove where Earnest lived and farmed all of his life. Cecelia died July 6, 1972. Earnest continued to reside on the farm where his death occurred late Saturday evening, Oct. 21, 1989. At the time of his death he had attained the age of 74 years, 9 months, and 23 days. He was a member of the First -United Methodist Church in Denison, the Sylvan Lodge 507, A.F.A.M., Denison, and the Sylvan Chapter 207 Order of Eastern Star, Denison. Including his wife, Cecelia and his parents, Earnest was preceded in death by one sister, Irene Hast; and one brother, Murl Ahrenholtz. Survivors include one son, Russell Buchanan and his wife, Kathy, of Oskaloosa; two daughters, Karen and husband, Norman Sauve, of Pasadena, Calif., and Cheryl and husband, Scott McMorris, of Denison; two grandchildren, Shannon and Sean McMorris of Denison; one stepgrandson, Rick Staeiger of Florida, one step-great-granddaughter, Nicole Staeiger; special friend, Estelle Quinn of Defiance; nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Masonic services were held at 8 p.m., Tuesday, at the Pfannebecker Funeral Home in Denison, Sylvan Lodge 507 A.F. 9 A.M. participating. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at the First United Methodist Church in Denison, Dr. Edward R. Peterson officiating. Organist Pam Duffey accompanied vocalists Bill and Louise Ahrenholtz who sang "Old Rugged Cross"and "How Great Thou Art." Pallbearers included Gerald Hulsebus, Gene Schnuettgen, Byron Meeves, James Zimmerman, Val Buchanan and Jim Langenfeld. Interment was in the Oakland Cemetary, Denison. Pfannebecker Funeral Home in Denison was in charge of arrangements.
