The cows were found in Hamilton's cornfield 1/2 mile from where the double slaying alleged to have occured. Mrs. Walker a niece to Hamilton and it was recalled by Sheriff, that Hamilton killed the womans father 10 yrs.ago.That victim was Robert Hamilton, brother of Jim Hamilton and the killer escaped punishment when he proved that he killed his brother in self-defense. In jail tonight both Hamilton's were stoic, refusing to admit guilt or innocence, However,the jury of Coroner A.F.Goforth formally charged: Mr.& Mrs. Walker came to their deaths at hands of Hamilton. Identification of bodies made through dental work by D. F.E. Beck of Pikeville,who said he done considerable dental work for the Walkers,recognized his own work. A lg.Masonic ring which Walker wore for many yrs.was also found. The Sheriff said tonight,investigation brought to light "unbreakable chain" of evidence against Hamilton,and two would be formally charged with murder before given a preliminary hearing next week. The Sheriff Investigation revealed: Bad blood between Walker-Hamilton some time. 2 weeks ago Walker shot Hamilton inflicting minor wound.Hamilton had Walker arrested on felonious assult,case pending. Second-Sheriff went to Hamilton's house, Hamilton assisted in search.But, he led the posse in opposit direction of cornfield-sawmill. Third-Wagon tracks found leading from Hamilton home to cornfield,to spot where bodies lay. From there to Hamilton home,2 wk.old tracks. Link against Hamilton, Walker's children went to Hamilton home Wed.morn.,ask him to help searcch for their parents. He did not. The sheriff office was not notified of the disappearance till children were taken to gr. mother's house, by a Burgess man,a neighbor. Grandmother, Mrs. Mary Lou Hamilton. She informed sheriff of disappearance,a widow of the brother that Hamilton slew 10 yrs. ago. It is theory of Sheriff Swafford,Hamilton found Walker and wife in cornfield and he he slew them, waited till night to move bodies. Took them to abandoned mill. Both families were well known in Bledsoe Co. About 2 yrs.ago,Sheriff Swafford recalled Hamilton killed Lewis Bowman, while Hamilton was acting as deputy sheriff in liquor raid At time,T.Y.Swafford was sheriff. Bowman is made a move on Hamilton thought was false, Hamilton shot the man through temple,killing him instantly. No charges was ever brought against Hamilton for killing Bowman.Hamilton's have no children,Walker's three: Dorothy,11; Virginia,7 and 4 mo.old infant. The remains of Walker's came to Pikeville this aftn., funeral arrangements will be planned tomorrow.
