Klaaren officiating. Burial was in the Sioux Center Community cemetery with Vander Ploeg's Funeral Service of Sioux Center in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Sioux Center Community cemetery with Vander Ploeg's Funeral Service of Sioux Center in charge of arrangements. Mr. Ed De Vos passed away unexpected late Tuesday evening. He had reached the age of 63 years, 7 months and 19 days. On March 20, 1919 he was united in marriage to Mary Juffer at Sioux Center. Following their marriage they lived on a farm for four years and then moved to town where he spent full time as a barber. Mr. De Vos had been practicing the barber trade for over 40 years. Besides his wife he is survived by two sons, Kenneth and Irwin both of Sioux Center. He is also survived by one granddaughter, and three brothers Arie, William and Henry. One brother Cornelis preceded him as well as his father and mother. Mr. De Vos was a veteran of War I. His sudden passing is mourned by a host of friends. Pall bearers were Herman Juffer, Richard Juffer, Wilmer Juffer, Elmer Juffer, Harry Juffer and James Juffer. -Obituary from The Sioux Center News (11/17/1955)
