She died Saturday, March 23, at a Council Grove hospital. She was born March 14, 1896, at Otterville, Mo., the daughter of John and Susan Finley Manness. She had lived in Morris County since 1928. Mrs. Longan was a member of Berean Baptist Church at Council Grove. She was married to Emmitt Longan April 16, 1916, at California, Mo. He died in 1973. A son, Edward Longan, preceded her in death in 1944. Survivors include a son, Emmitt Longan Jr., Route 1, Alta Vista; five daughters, Anna Watson and Geraldine Weeks, both of Council Grove, Evelyn Ohm, Latimer, Leona Hewitt, Montour, Iowa, and Bessie Lynch, in California; 22 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery at Council Grove. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cardiac Care Unit at Morris County Hospital in Council Grove. Thanks to Kathy G.
