Description	:	Eddie Hugh Gault, 64, of Whitestone, SC, passed away on May 7, 2001 in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. A native of Spartanburg, he was the husband of Shirley (Bishop) Gault and the son of Mary Irene (Lavender) Gault and the late Roy Lee Gault. A member of Glendale Baptist Church, he was an employee of Bobo Funeral Chapel. He retired from the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office on July 23, 1993 after 25 years of service. A native of Spartanburg, he was the husband of Shirley (Bishop) Gault and the son of Mary Irene (Lavender) Gault and the late Roy Lee Gault. A member of Glendale Baptist Church, he was an employee of Bobo Funeral Chapel. He retired from the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office on July 23, 1993 after 25 years of service. He received a plaque in his honor of many years of faithful and devoted service to the citizens of Spartanburg County. He was named "Officer of the Year" for meritorious Service, Devotion of Duty and Exemplary Performance as Police Officer of Spartanburg County Sheriff's Department for the year 1983. In 1984, he was honored by the Optimist Club of Spartanburg as Officer of the Year. Eddie was the first Bloodhound Handler of the Sheriff's Office. Survivors include: his wife, Shirley (Bishop) Gault of the home; his mother, Mary Irene (Lavender) Gault of Drayton; three sons: Michael Gault of Campobello, Randy Gault of Whitestone, and Tim Gault of Reidville; a daughter, Kristi Gault of the home; and six grandchildren: Heather, Justin, David, Daniel, Caleb, and Lauren Gault. Visitation was 7:00-9:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 8, 2001 at the Bobo Funeral Chapel. Funeral Services were held at 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 9, 2001 at the Bobo Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Kenny Moore and Lt. Alfonzo Hubert. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Serving as Pallbearers were Ray Price, Bud Robinson, Bud Riley, David Taylor, David Poole, and Alfonzo Hubert.
