Description	:	Edgar H. Wuerdeman, 83, of Frontenac, Kan., died at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, 2007, at the Sunset Manor Nursing Home. He was born April 15, 1924, at Colecamp, Mo., to George and Wanda Zellmer Wuerdeman. He attended school in Cherokee and graduated from Pittsburg State University. He moved to Joplin where he had lived since 1956, until moving to Frontenac in January 2004. Mr. Wuerdeman served in the United States Army during World War II, from July 1944 until June 1946. Wuerdeman, 83, of Frontenac, Kan., died at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, 2007, at the Sunset Manor Nursing Home. He was born April 15, 1924, at Colecamp, Mo., to George and Wanda Zellmer Wuerdeman. He attended school in Cherokee and graduated from Pittsburg State University. He moved to Joplin where he had lived since 1956, until moving to Frontenac in January 2004. Mr. Wuerdeman served in the United States Army during World War II, from July 1944 until June 1946. He was awarded the Bronze Star. He also served in Korea from 1950 to 1951. On June 15, 1947, he married Rose Marie Castellani. Mr. Wuerdeman worked as an electrician for the Local Electrical Union for 30 years. Membership was held in the Immanuel Lutheran Church at Joplin, the IBEW and the American Legion. He is survived by his wife, Rose Marie Wuerdeman, of Frontenac; and several nephews. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, July 2, at Immanuel Lutheran Church Joplin, with Pastor James Schnackenberg officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Lutheran Cemetery at Pittsburg. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. Monday until service time at the church. Friends may call at Brenner Mortuary from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. The family suggest memorials to Immanuel Lutheran Church. These may be left at or mailed to Brenner Mortuary. Arrangements are under the direction of Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. 4th Street, Pittsburg, Kan.
