Description	:	KING, NC ~ Edgar Harvey Seeley, 85, of King passed away Thursday, Aug. 30, 2007, at his home. He was born in Norfolk, Va., on March 13, 1922, to the late Robert William and Mary Kelley Seeley. Mr. Seeley served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Gospel Light... Read More	KING, NC ~ Edgar Harvey Seeley, 85, of King passed away Thursday, Aug. 30, 2007, at his home. He was born in Norfolk, Va., on March 13, 1922, to the late Robert William and Mary Kelley Seeley. Mr. Seeley served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army. He worked and retired as a plumber at R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. He was known as the man with the shiny green hat. Edgar was married to the late Florence Inez Ring Seeley. He was a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church. Mr. Seeley was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and two sons-in-law: Addison Jessup and Samuel Day. Mr. Seeley is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law: Elizabeth Jane and Floyd Scott of Walnut Cove, Betty Sue Day of King. Carolyn Jessup of Westfield, and Wanda and Gene Kirkman of Mount Airy; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 2, at Cox-Needham Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Mike Sands officiating. Interment will follow at Westfield Baptist Church Cemetery with full military honors by King American Legion Post 290. Mr. Seeley will be in the chapel 30 minutes before the service. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today, Sept. 1, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Stokes, 3169 N.C. 8 Highway South, Walnut Cove, NC 27052. The Seeley family is being assisted by Cox-Needham Funeral Home in Pilot Mountain.
