Visitation was held from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, May 1, at Halverson Leavell Mortuary in Torrence, Ca. A further service was held at 9:30 a.m. May 3 at the Jones Funeral Home in Trenton, Neb., with a graveside service at 2 p.m. in the Chester Cemetery conducted by Rev. Douglas Ferguson of the Chester U.M.C. Edgar was married to Daisie Weddington in 1918. To this union was born two children: a daughter, Beth (Williams) Cole of Lawndale and a son Donald of Torrence, who survive with 3 grandchildren, Alan, Keith and Charlene Cole. Other survivors are two sisters, Ida Graaf, Kent, Wash., Edna (a twin sister) Antram of Monrovia, Ca., one brother, Robert of 29 Palms, Ca. His wife preceded him in death in 1971. He was an active member of the Bible Baptist Church in Torrence, a life long member of the American Legion and the Odd Fellows Lodge. He was employed by the Burlington Railroad, and was depot agent and dispatcher, coming to Chester in 1927. From Chester he was transferred to Superior, and then to Guide Rock where he retired in 1962, moving to Torrence, where he was a resident for 16 years. He was a good Christian neighbor and friend, especially among the children and young people. A number of people in Chester have many fond memories of him.
