They lived in the Lawton and Moville area most of their married life. He died July 3, 1943, in Sioux City." Mrs. Rolfs died Tuesday, February 26, 1985 in a Sioux City nursing home after a long illness." "Survivors include a son, Richard D. of LeMars, Iowa; four daughters, Mrs. Wesley (Esther) Nelson of Clinton, Connecticut, Mrs. Paul (Edith) Rayburn of Spokane, Washington, Mrs. Homer (Elsie) Foster of Moville and Mrs. Roland (Shirley) Meidinger of Jamestown, North Dakota; 23 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren." "She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons Claus and Thomas, two daughters, Alice in infancy and Mrs. Fred (Dorothy) Kaup, one brother and two sisters."
