Rose passed away at her home at 1309 Prince Edward Street this morning at 8:30 o'clock, after an illness of many month(s), the cause of her death being acute Bright's disease. Miss Rose was born and raised here where she spent most of her life. During the World War she enlisted in the United States Navy serving as yoemanette for over a year at the Norfolk Navy Yards. She is believed to have been the only girl from this section who was actively in service. She was a graduate of the 1938 class of the Mary Washington Hospital. Though being in ill health for the past year Miss Rose responded during that time to many calls that came to her to go out and minister to the sick. She endeared herself to those she attended and to those she was associated with in homes of the sick and at the hospital. Bearing her suffering with patience, she always was hopeful to return to the duty she loved. Miss Rose served as Adjutant of the local Bowen-Franklin-Know Post of the American Legion sometime past, and at the time of her death was one of its most active members. She was a member of the Methodist Church of this city. Miss Rose is survived by her mother, Mrs. Harriott Rose,two sisters, Miss Lola Rose and Miss Susie Rose, two brothers, George L. Rose and Contee S. Rose, all of this city. She was a daughter of the late Powhatan Rose. Funeral services will take place from the home at 1309 Prince Edward Street Thursday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, and will be conducted by Rev. R. V. Lancaster, chaplain of the American Legion, assisted by Rev. Ernest Aaron, pastor of the Methodist Church, and Rev. Laurance Brent, rector of Trinity Church. Interment will take place in the National Cemetery with the following members of the Legion acting as pallbearers: W. B. F. Cole, Lewis Jackson, Clem Goodman, Kuzner Bauman, Dr. G.
