Read More	The Hooper Sentinel June 26, 1947 Mrs. Bergquist Taken By Death Mrs. Edith Bergquist, prominent resident of the Swaburg community, passed away Sunday noon at the Oakland Community hospital, where she had been a patient for the past week. suffering from a heart ailment, she had been in failing health during the past several years. As Edith Christena Tunberg, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Tunberg, the deceased was born on a farm near Oakland on September 26, 1880, and was aged 66 years, 8 months and 26 days. She was baptized and confirmed in the First Lutheran church at Oakland, and attended he rural schools of that vicinity. On July 10, 1906, she was united in marriage at Omaha to Henning O. Bergquist of Swaburg. Mr. Bergquist passed away Sept. 16, 1926, following which she continued to make her home at Swaburg except for a short time spent in Uehling. During the past six months she had been making her home with her children. He death removed from Swaburg's circle of citizenship a kind friend and neighbor who was held in the highest esteem by all. She was a faithful member of the Elim Lutheran Church, a past president of the Ladies Aid society and had been an active member of the Women's Missionary society of the church ever since its organization. She was also a member of the Women's Auxiliary of the Uehling American Legion post. Mourning her departure are three children, Harold Bergquist, Mrs. Martin Olson and Orville Bergquist, all of Swaburg, also six grandchildren, Marlene and Keith Bergquist and Elizabeth, Lois and Evaline and Evon Olson. She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. George P. Johnson of Fremont, and Miss Olga Tunberg and by five brothers, Fred Tunberg, Oakland; Herman Tunberg, Surprise; Clarence Tunberg, Lincoln; Wilton Tunberg, Irene, S. D.; and Luther Tunberg, of Creighton. Her parents, two brothers and a sister preceded her in death. Funeral services were held at the late home and Elim Lutheran church on Wednesday afternoon, with Rev. Drell E. Bernhardson as the officiating pastor. Interment was in the church cemetery. Wollmer & Warne were in charge of the arrangements.
