For a few years, her family moved across the state line to Aurora, IN, although they soon returned to OH. Edith graduated from high school in Rising Sun, IN, later attending Miami University in Oxford, OH. She taught school both in Okeana and West Chester, OH. Marrying Adam A. Weissinger in 1921, Edith was the mother of three children, two of whom died at birth. Surviving to adulthood was one daughter, Marian Fern.
