She was born June 20, 1915, in Montgomery County, Va., to Orville H. and Rosa Cook Taylor. Ms. Nance was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and also a friend to many. Read More	Father: Orville Taylor Mother: Rosa Cook∼Winston-Salem Journal (NC)- December 22, 2006 JONESVILLE - Ms. Edith Taylor Nance, 91, a Christian and lifelong servant to the Lord, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2006, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. She was born June 20, 1915, in Montgomery County, Va., to Orville H. and Rosa Cook Taylor. Ms. Nance was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and also a friend to many. She was a resident of the Jonesville area and was a member of the Jonesville Holiness Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thurman Allen Nance; five brothers; four sisters; and a great-grandson. Surviving are her children, Joann Dudley, Mary Lou (Zeke) Robertson, Faye (David) Buie, Richard A. (Zella) Nance, Christeen (Roy) Ashley; a special grandson, Brandon S. (Andrea) Ashley; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Her funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, at Shady Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Timothy Allen Wolfe and the Rev. Daniel Stewart Buie officiating. Ms. Nance will lie in repose in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Jonesville, which is serving the Nance family.
