Every name in the bridal party at a wedding that took place in Walkersville this morning was 'Long,' as both the bride and the groom were Longs and the two attendants were of the same name. This was a rather remarkable coincidence, for it is seldom that such a combination of names is noted at a wedding. The contracting parties were Mr. John Abraham Long, of Creagerstown, and Miss Edith Emma Long, of Emmitsburg. The ceremony was performed in the parsonage of the Glade Reformed Church at Walkersville by the pastor, Rev. Guy P. Bready. The attendants were Mr. Grant Long, a brother of the bride, and Miss Mary A. Long, a sister of the groom. The bride was attired becomingly in white for the wedding, and after the ceremony was performed, she donned a travelling suit of dark blue cloth. The happy couple left on the 11 o'clock train for Frederick, from which place they will go on a short wedding trip. Mr. Long is the son of William Long at Loy's. She was born in Frederick County, a daughter of the late Joseph and Clara Winter Long. She was a member of the United Church of Christ, Thurmont. Surviving besides her husband are four sons, William J. Long, Rockville; M. Birely Long, Graceham; E. Richard Long, Woodsboro, J. C. Long, Emmitsburg; three daughters, Mrs. Edith Miller, Cedar Grove; Mrs. James L. Fisher, Thurmont; Miss Ruth E. Long, at home; 17 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Grant Long, Emmitsburg; two sisters, Mrs. Lena Hartman, Waynesboro, and Mrs. Mabel Wilhide, Frederick. Friends may call at the Creager Funeral Home, Thurmont. Funeral services will be held at the Trinity United Church of Christ, Thurmont, at 2 p.m. Thursday. Rev. George A. Halteman will officiate. Funeral services for Mrs. Edith E. Long of Emmitsburg, who died Monday at Gettysburg Hospital, were held Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Trinity United Church of Christ in Thurmont. The Rev. George B. Halteman and the Rev. Philip Bower officiated. Pallbearers were Gary Long, Jack Long, John Long, Nick Long, Richard Long and William Long, Jr. Interment was in the Presbyterian Cemetery in Emmitsburg."
