Services were Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Christian Church in Nichols, with the Rev. Bill Keller officiating. Burial will be in the Lone Tree Cemetery. Visitation started Tuesday at Sorden’s Funeral Home in Lone Tree. She was born Feb. 2, 1908, near West Liberty, a daughter of Miltos and Elva Mary Ransom Boyle. She married Arthur Schuessler Jan. 17, 1928, in Moline, Il. She was a graduate of West Liberty High School and the normal training course at the University of Iowa. She was a member of the United Church of Christ at Lone Tree and the Christian Church at Nichols. She taught Sunday School for many years. She was a 4-H leader for 16 years and was active in the Farm Bureau women’s organization. She was a cook for the Pi Beta Pi sorority at UI, and was active in Women’s Relief Corps and held many local and state offices, including the presidency in 1982 and 1983. She was a member of the Iowa City Genealogical Society, an active member of the Johnson County Historical Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, and had taught school in the Lincoln Township. She was one of the authors of the Pioneers and Their Descendents of Lone Tree and the Parry Family History Book. Survivors include one son, Marvin Schuessler of Lone Tree; three daughters, Joanne Hopton of Fairfield, Oh., Donna Bean of Marion, Ia., and Joyce Werden of Quaker Hill, Ct.; eight granddaughters; three grandsons; two brothers, Myron Boyle of McCausland, Ia., and Ransom Boyle of Red Lake Falls, Mn., and two sisters, Elva Malone of Muscatine and Edna (Mrs. James) Weir of Illinois City, Il. She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur and son Maynard Arthur. Pallbearers were Richard Boyle, Merrill Boyle, James Weir, Gene Boyle and John Weir.
