Description	:	Edith Bartz Edith Wilke was born January 28, 1916 near Milnor, ND to H.T. and Lillie (Schwarz) Wilke. She was baptized March 5, 1916 at Zion Lutheran church in Willey Township. She grew up and attended country school, and was confirmed on March 25, 1929 at Zion Lutheran Church. Edith graduated from Milnor High School in 1933. In November of 1935 she married Martin Bartz at the Zion Lutheran Church parsonage. They moved to Bottineau County where they farmed for 12 years. Read More	Edith Bartz Edith Wilke was born January 28, 1916 near Milnor, ND to H.T. and Lillie (Schwarz) Wilke. She was baptized March 5, 1916 at Zion Lutheran church in Willey Township. She grew up and attended country school, and was confirmed on March 25, 1929 at Zion Lutheran Church. Edith graduated from Milnor High School in 1933. In November of 1935 she married Martin Bartz at the Zion Lutheran Church parsonage. They moved to Bottineau County where they farmed for 12 years. They returned to Sargent County in 1948 where they continued farming until 1971. Edith was a 4-H leader. She taught Sunday school for more than 35 years. She worked for Dahl's Super Valu Store from 1971-1978. Edith was active in her church and Lutheran Women's Missionary League her entire adult life, making many quilts for Lutheran World Relief as well as for her family. Survivors include 2 sons, Larry (Sharon) Bartz, Gwinner, ND; Randy (Joan) Bartz, Mahnomen, MN; Margie (Ken) Hopkins, Wahpeton, ND; daughter-in-law, Theresa Bartz, Lubbock, TX; one sister, Emma Hohenstein, Mankato, MN; sisters-in-law, June Wilke, Wahpeton, ND and Ruth Wilke, Fullerton, ND; 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Martin, in 1987, and 2 sons, Dennis and Michael. Visitation will be Sunday 5:00-7:00 PM at Zion Lutheran Church in Gwinner with a Prayer Service to follow. Funeral Services will be Monday 11:00 AM at Zion Lutheran Church in Gwinner.
