This date agrees with this announcement of their marriage which was printed in the "Ottumwa Courier," of April 27, 1905: The wedding of Miss Edith Hatch, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Hatch and Jerome W. Cundiff took place last evening at the home of the bride's parents, four miles south of the city. Rev. E.J. Shook, pastor of the Williard [sic-should be Willard] Street Methodist Episcopal church performed the ceremony, which was attended by the relatives and a few intimate friends. The wedding march was played by Miss Edna Hatch, a sister of the bride. The bride was becomingly gowned in a dress of white silk organdie over white taffeta with chiffon trimmings. She carried bride's roses. Following the ceremony a four course wedding supper was served. The Hatch home was very prettily decorated with palms, ferns, roses and carnations. The bride was formerly stenographer in the law office of George F. Heindel. She is a talented and popular young woman, and a favorite among a large circle of friends. The groom is a prominent young business man. Mr. and Mrs. Cundiff will be at home to their friends after May 15 on Quincy avenue. Obituary From "Ottumwa Courier," March 19, 1955: Mrs. Edith Cundiff, 73, wife of Jerome W. Cundiff of 297 Richmond avenue, died Friday at 9 p.m. at her home. Mr. and Mrs. Cundiff would have observed their 50th wedding anniversary March 26. The daughter of George W. and Ada Jeffries Hatch, she was born March 15, 1882, in Wapello county. She had lived in Ottumwa and Wapello county all of her life. She was married to Jerome Cundiff March 26, 1905, at the home of her parents. She was a member of the Willard Street Methodist church. Surviving besides her husband, are one son, Jerome W. Cundiff, Jr., of Denver; a granddaughter, Victoria Ann Cundiff of Denver; four sisters, Mrs. W.F. Maurer, Mrs. Myron L. Ackley and Mrs. Glenn Hazen, all of Ottumwa, and Mrs. Harold B. Simmons of Davenport; and one brother, George W. Hatch of Des Moines.
