Description	:	Edith Ulberg, 98, died Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at Hilda's Heritage Home in Lennox following a brief illness. Funeral services were held at First English Lutheran Church in Lennox on Monday, May 19 at 10:30 a.m. Officiating at the service was Rev. Hugh Brewer. Music was provided by Helen Sweeter, organist, and Verlyn Schmidt, soloist, who sang On Eagles Wings and Precious Lord, Take My Hand. Pallbearers were Jason Carls, Travis Graves, Tim Kueter, Steve Van Westen, Russ Brick, and Ryan Renz. Honorary pallbearer was Jack O'Neill. Edith Hazel White was born March 14, 1910 on a farm in Lincoln County. She attended rural school and grew up there. Edith was a direct descendant of Parigon White, the first white baby born in Plymouth County after the Mayflower landed. On June 1, 1929 Edith was married to Clarence "Casey" Ulberg at Parker, SD. Following their marriage they farmed east and south of Lennox, then near Davis, moving to their farm just north of Lennox in 1948. Her husband died March 16, 1975. She moved into Lennox in 1976 and became a resident of Hilda's Heritage Home on October 20, 1999. She was a member of First English Lutheran Church, Ruth Circle and WELCA. Edith enjoyed spectator sports, including the Lennox Browns, Minnesota Twins and professional basketball. She enjoyed bowling, bingo, playing cards and traveling. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters: Ethel Monson on July 23, 1998 and three sisters in infancy. Grateful for having shared her life are three nieces: Joyce (DeWane) Carls of Hartford, Jean (Don) Smith of Centerville and Roberta "Bert" (Roger) Carls of Hartford; one nephew: Verlyn (Mary) Hofer of Lennox and one nephew-in-law: Carl Renz of Lennox; plus several great-nieces and great-nephews.
