Description	:	Edith "Inez" Kober, 91, of Three Forks, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Aug. 6, 2013. Inez was born Jan. 14, 1922 in Forsyth, Mont. to Fred and Edith Coombe. She was raised on a cattle ranch in Ashland, Mont., along with her four sisters. She attended school in Colstrip and Miles City. Inez attained her teaching degree from Eastern Montana Normal School (now known as MSU-Billings) and taught for one year in Rosebud, Mont. She was raised on a cattle ranch in Ashland, Mont., along with her four sisters. She attended school in Colstrip and Miles City. Inez attained her teaching degree from Eastern Montana Normal School (now known as MSU-Billings) and taught for one year in Rosebud, Mont. After moving to San Francisco, she taught school in Salinas, Calif. for four years. Inez married William (Bill) Kober in Tucson, Ariz. on July 14, 1945. They were married for 65 years. Bill served in the army as a pilot in World War II while Inez continued her teaching career. Following his military discharge, they moved to Bozeman where Bill attained his B.S. and M.S. degrees in science and vocational agriculture. They taught four years in St. Ignatius and moved to Three Forks in 1953 where Inez was a substitute teacher and Bill taught Vo-Ag for over 30 years. Inez lived and was involved in the Three Forks community for 60 years. Her home of many years was always a gathering place for family and friends. Inez enjoyed sewing and playing bridge. In her later years Inez learned to play golf, loved it, and was quite good at it; as evidenced by her "Hole-in-One" on the Headwaters Public Golf Course. She was an avid supporter of all the "Wolves" athletic teams and enjoyed cheering at all the games. Inez was a long time member of the United Methodist Church of Three Forks and actively enjoyed socializing while helping at church functions. Inez is survived by her three children: Vonnie (Ken) Bray of Albuquerque, N.M., Dale (Bonita) Kober of Three Forks and Michelle (Roger) Cass of Kenmore, Wash. She has three sisters, Frances Grasky of Miles City, Hilda Walker of Belgrade, and Evelyn Walker of Granada Hills, Calif.; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren as well as many extended family members. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, and one sister, Freeda Ort. Our mother was a very gentle and kind soul, filled with love and compassion for all her family and friends. She embraced and enjoyed her role as a wife, a mother, and a homemaker. She will be missed but never forgotten as her legacy has touched so many lives. Service arrangements by K&L Mortuary: Internment will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10 at Fairview Cemetery and the memorial service at 3 p.m. at United Methodist Church of Three Forks. A reception will follow the service in the church annex. Memorial donations can be made to the "William Kober Scholarship Fund" at First Security Bank of Three Forks. This scholarship is awarded annually to a graduating Three Forks senior.
