Leesley of Oto, Iowa, was born February 5, 1915, near Washta, Iowa, Grand Meadow Township, Cherokee County, and passed away April 9, 1914, at 7:50 a.m. in St. Joseph Hospital, Sioux City, at the age of 29 years, two months and fourteen days. At an early age she joined the Morning Star Evangelical church near Washta. Four years ago she transferred to Whitfield Methodist church in Sioux City, and took an active part in the service of the church, serving as teacher and president of the Woman's circle at one time. She attended the consilidated school at Grand Meadow near Washta, Iowa, and graduated with the class of 1932. She was prominent in school operettas and plays and having a lovely voice, she sang for many occasions in her home community. In 1932 she was united in marriage to Theodore R. Clauson. To this union was born three sons, Theodore Richard, Lawrence Eugene and Thomas James. She was preceded in death by her son, Lawrence, her mother and a sister, Lucille. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Pvt. Theodore R. Clauson, Camp Fannin, Texas, two sons, Richard and James, her father and step-mother, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas J. Leesley of Oto, Iowa, three sisters and two brothers -- Mrs. Lillian Booth, Washta; PFC Pauline Leeseley, Camp Lejeune, N.C.; Mrs. Bonnie Jeanne Dickens, Pender, Nebr.; Thomas J. Leesley, Jr. and Dean Willian Leeseley, noth of Oto, and a host of relatives and friends.
