May 19, 1941 - Carroll Daily Herald - Manning - Funeral services for Mrs. Edith L Morris, 28, daughter of Mr and Mrs Frank Livingston of Manning, will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Ohde Funeral Home here, with the Rev C.W. Mrs Morris, a nurse in the Veterans Hospital in Des Moines, was found dead Sunday noon in a cabin at the Woodbine tourist camp at Des Moines. Dr J.W. Bailey, Polk county coroner, said death was caused by an overdose of sedative. Mrs Morris was born Edith Livingston in Carroll Dec 21, 1912. She was graduated from Manning High School with the class of 1931, and later from the nursing training school of the General Hospital of Denver, Colorado. She was married to Richard Morris while in nurses training. She had been employed at the Veterans Hospital in Des Moines for the last 15 months. She was preceded in death by her sister, Mercedes, who died during the flu epidemic of 1918.
