Description	:	Edith Mae "Edie" Reid, 73, a longtime East Wenatchee resident, died Tuesday morning, August 10, 2004, in Central Washington Hospital following an extended illness. She was born January 8, 1931, in Wenatchee, to George H. and Gladys (Rose) Canterbury. She lived with her family in Wenatchee, Twisp, Okanogan and Spokane from 1931, until 1946, when they moved back to Orondo. She graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1951, and in 1953, she married Charles "Ben" Reid and they moved to Baker Flats. She was born January 8, 1931, in Wenatchee, to George H. and Gladys (Rose) Canterbury. She lived with her family in Wenatchee, Twisp, Okanogan and Spokane from 1931, until 1946, when they moved back to Orondo. She graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1951, and in 1953, she married Charles "Ben" Reid and they moved to Baker Flats. Edith was a member of Wenatchee Eagles 204 Auxiliary and the Wenatchee Court #11 Order of the Amaranth. She was an avid bowler and bowled in the Eagles Mixed League for over 25 years. Survivors include her mother, Gladys Canterbury (95) of Manson; two sons, Chuck (Christa) Reid of Orondo and Rick Reid of East Wenatchee; three brothers, George H. Canterbury, Jr. of East Wenatchee, Joel C. Canterbury of Manson and James V. Canterbury of Normandy Park, WA; a grandson, Ben Reid of Orondo; and a great granddaughter, Claira of Orondo. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1972. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 13, 2004, in the Colonial Chapel of the Jones and Jones Funeral Home. Wenatchee Court #11 of the Order of the Amaranth will officiate. Concluding services and the Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones and Jones Funeral Home.
