Description	:	Mrs. Edith Mae Thornhill Delauder, age 92 a former resident of Belington, WV and more recently a resident of The Oaks of Richfield Senior Living and Health Care Community in Salem, Virginia departed this life Saturday morning February 1, 2020 in the care facility following a period of declining health. She was born January 7, 1928 at Junior, WV a daughter of the late Hartsel and Cora Zelma Marsh Thornhill. She was born January 7, 1928 at Junior, WV a daughter of the late Hartsel and Cora Zelma Marsh Thornhill. On June 30, 1942 she was united in marriage to Everett William Delauder who preceded her in death on December 9, 1999. She is survived by one son Ronald Delauder and wife Karen of Gretna, VA, three daughters, Rosalie Layman of Salem, VA, Kathy Delauder, of Roanoke, VA, Jean Morgan and husband Charles of Mt. Airy NC, ten grandchildren; Dixie Hogan, Tammy Holmes, Billy Tacy, Paul Tacy and wife Mary Jo, Tim Morgan and wife Julie, Greg Morgan and wife Pearl, Ashley Hardy, Amanda Hardy, Cora Delauder and Jimmy Delauder and wife Kedlin. Great grandchildren surviving are Justin, Arron, Scott, Michael, Nick, Pauly Jr., Savannah, Nik, Michael, Delaney, Austin, Ashley, Raleigh, Jacey and Nick. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents and husband she is preceded in death by one daughter, Carol Sue Tacy four brothers, and three sisters. Edith attended the schools of Barbour County and was a member the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Belington where she attended faithfully. She was previously employed by Alderson Broaddus College in the housekeeping department where she worked for 20 years. For the past seven years she had resided at the Oaks of Richfield Senior Living and Health Care Community in Salem Virginia. During her stay there she made many friends to include residents and staff members also. She loved the piano, family gatherings, and socializing. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home 56 North Brandenburg Street in Belington on Wednesday February 5, 2020 from 6 -9 pm. On Thursday February 6, 2020, Edith will be moved to the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Belington where friends may call from 10am to11am the funeral hour when final rites will be conducted from the church with the Pastor David Shelton officiating. Interment will follow in the Stringtown Cemetery at Belington, WV. Condolences can be made to the family at www.talbottfuneralhome.com. The Talbott Funeral Home in Belington is in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Edith Mae Thornhill Delauder.
