Description	:	July 18, 1918 - March 27, 2010 Edith Rogers, 91, of Miller, formerly of Wessington, died Saturday, March 27th at the Good Samaritan Center in Miller. Visitation will be Friday, April 2nd from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Rembold Funeral Home in St. Lawrence. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 3rd at the First Presbyterian Church in Wessington with Pastor Allen Sager officiating. Burial will be at the Wessington Cemetery. Edith Marie Mortensen was born in Bates Township, Hand County to Chris and Helen (Johnson) Mortensen on July 18, 1918. She attended Domsch School and High School in Wessington, working for her room and board. On August 29, 1935, Edith married Irving Rogers. They spent most of their lives in Wessington Township, six miles from Wessington. Edith was a 4-H leader and served on the school board. She was a member of the Jolly Quilters Club, and served on the Wessington Cemetery Board for many years. Edith was an active member of the Wessington Presbyterian Church, serving as a Sunday School teacher, president of the UPW, Trustee and Deacon. She loved being a Grandma. People were never surprised to see her with one or more grandkids on any occasion. Survivors include two sons, Donald Rogers of Wessington, Dick (Judy) Rogers of Wessington; one daughter, Norma (Jim) Waring of Ree Heights; one sister Anna Buck of Seattle, WA; one sister-in-law Beth Potter of Miller; 14 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; many close relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Irving in 1996, daughter Margaret Jody, son-in-law Neil Shockman, daughter-in-law Madeleine Rogers, grandson Evan Rogers, sister Clarabell Wishard as well as many close relatives and friends.
