Read More	Ames Daily Tribune Tuesday, May 19, 1959 page two AMES AND AREA DEATHS Mrs. Edith Roe Died Sunday Mrs. Edith Pearl Roe, Webster City, died Sunday at about noon at the Hamilton County Hospital. She had been ill for the past three months. Mrs. Roe had made her home in Webster City for the past three years. She had lived in the Luther and Napier communities most of her life. Survivors include four sons, Raymond and Marvin of Webster City; Loyd of Blairsburg, and Roy of Moline, Ill.; five daughters, Mrs. Helen Houseman of Madrid; Mrs. Fay Sorenson of Ames, Mrs. Margaret Phillips of Houston, Tex.; Mrs. Ida Oakes of Des Moines, and Mrs. Mary Loder of Downers Grove, Ill.; 18 grandchildren; one great grandchild; three brothers and four sisters. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleo in 1953 and two daughters. Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Luther Methodist Church. Burial will be at Ontario. The body will lie in state Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Sundberg Funeral Home in Madrid. ~~~~~~~~~ Ames Daily Tribune Wednesday, June 10, 1959 page ten OBITUARY Edith Pearl Roe Funeral services for Edith Pearl Roe were held May 21 at 2 p.m. from the Luther Methodist Church with the Rev. Kitterman of Webster City and the Rev. Glenn Bush, pastor of the Luther Methodist Church, officiating. Pallbearers were Dale Eppert, Owen Andreson, Emery Barclay, Virgil Danielson, Edmond Olson, and O. M. Scott. Burial was at the Ontario cemetery with services from the Sundberg Funeral Home of Madrid. Edith Pearl McHone Roe, daughter of Augustus M. and Hannah Leota McHone, was born Dec. 3, 1893, at Zearing, and died May 17 at the Hamilton County Public Hospital in Webster City after three month's illness. The family resided in the Cambridge vicinity for several years before moving to Napier. She was married to Cleo C. Roe Oct. 30, 1912. Except for the last three years of her life, Mrs. Roe lived in Boone County most of the time following her marriage. Mrs. Roe was preceded in death by her husband and two daughters. She joined the Napier Methodist Church in 1928 and was a member of the Methodist church in Webster City at the time of her death. Survivors include four sons; Raymond and Marvin, Webster City; Lloyd, Blairsburg, and Roy, Moline, Ill.; five daughters; Mrs. Helen Houseman, Madrid; Mrs. Fay Sorenson, Ames; Mrs. Margaret Phillips, Houston, Tex.; Mrs. Ida Oakes, Des Moines; and Mrs. Mary Loder, Downers Grove, Ill.; 18 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
