Description	:	Wife of Nels Thompson Brayton Woman Dies Saturday at Audubon Mrs. Edith Thompson, 70, wife of Nels Thompson of Brayton, died at 2:07 Saturday [May 9, 1964] afternoon at the Audubon hospital, where she had been a patient two days. Death followed a stroke. Mrs. Thompson was born in Clinton Nov. 29, 1893, the daughter of Ole and Christina Quist and came with her parents to the Exira vicinity. Death followed a stroke. Mrs. Thompson was born in Clinton Nov. 29, 1893, the daughter of Ole and Christina Quist and came with her parents to the Exira vicinity. She had lived in Brayton since her marriage to Mr. Thompson July 17, 1929. Surviving are her husband, a daughter, Mrs. Edna M. Rohrer of Mt. Clemens, Mich.; a son, Lee M. Thompson of Exira; two stepsons, Cecil Thompson of Carlisle and Cleo Thompson of Des Moines; two sisters,Mrs. Ella Enfield of Anita and Mrs. Clara Peterson of Brayton; a brother, Harry Quist of Santa Ana, Calif.; 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Harley and a brother, Nels Quist. Funeral service will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 at the Brayton Baptist church, the Rev. C.M. Sweet officiating. The remains will be at the Roland funeral home until 10 o’clock Tuesday morning and interment will be in St. John’s cemetery west of Exira. (Atlantic News Telegraph, Atlantic, IA, May 11, 1964)
