She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church. She married Charles Porter in 1934. He preceded her in death in 1939. She was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. Survivors include five sons, Kenneth Ellis of Portland, Ore., Henry Ellis of Virginia Beach, Va., James and John Porter of Portland, Ore., and Thomas Porter of Fairfield; two daughters, Mrs. Charlotte Crable of Portland, Ore. and Mrs. Verna Mirgon of Ottumwa; two step-sons, Gerald Porter of Ottumwa and George of Minnesota; four step-daughters, Mrs. Reta Grear and Mrs. Alice Yenger of Ottumwa, Mrs. Louise Shadley of Drakesville and Mrs. Martha Woods of Estherville; 10 grandchildren; 15 step-grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The service will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Johnson Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Jordan Jacobson of St. Paul Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Shaul Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gerald Porter, John Yenger, John Grear, Richard Grear, Henry Shadley and William Guthrie. A memorial fund has been established payable to the Valley View Manor in Muscatine.
