Description	:	Edmund Linn cook was born in Murray, Ky., September 20, 1879, the son of the late Mary Jane Lassiter and Edmund James Cook, and passed away at the Bonne Terre Hospital following a stroke Monday, Oct. 17, 1960. He was the second youngest of eight brothers and sisters, all having preceded him in death, but his younger brother of Miami, Fla. He was married to Miss Nelle Doss, of Farmington. Read More	Edmund Linn cook was born in Murray, Ky., September 20, 1879, the son of the late Mary Jane Lassiter and Edmund James Cook, and passed away at the Bonne Terre Hospital following a stroke Monday, Oct. 17, 1960. He was the second youngest of eight brothers and sisters, all having preceded him in death, but his younger brother of Miami, Fla. He was married to Miss Nelle Doss, of Farmington. Mr. Cook had followed the banking profession for almost 50 years, having been cashier, bank examiner, executive vice president, also liquidation of six banks of Southeast Missouri. He was for 16 years connected with the Douglas Co., Bank of Omaha, first as executive vice-president and later as president. He always took an active part in church and civic affairs, serving on the Board of Trustees and as treasurer of St. Paul Methodist Church of Omaha. He served for a number of years as associate teacher of the Joy Forum, a class of 75 young adults. Mr. Cook was secretary treasurer of the Commercial Club of Benson, a member of Add-Sell and active in the Bankers Association and for more than 50 years was a member of the Masonic Order. Because of a serious heart condition he was forced to discontinue his work and later came to Farmington where he has since resided. He and his wife united with the Murphy Long Memorial church and he has served since the unification of the Board of Trustees of the Memorial Methodist church, and was a regular attendant of the Men's Club, so long as he was able. Mr. Cook with his kindly manner and ready wit, made many friends. He oftentimes said his most rewarding hobby was in making new friends. He is survived by his devoted wife, Nelle, and one brother, Gordon O. Cook of Miami, Fla; seven nieces and nephew; also nine great nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Joseph Jones Wednesday afternoon at the Miller Funeral Chapel at 2 p.m. Interment was in the Masonic cemetery.
