Funeral services will be Monday, Jan. 17, 2005, at Miller-Huebl Funeral Home, Aberdeen, with Rev. Glenn Raynor officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Edmund Loebs was born June 3, 1914, at Eureka, S.D., to Peter and Rosina (Neuharth) Loebs. Edmund Loebs was born June 3, 1914, at Eureka, S.D., to Peter and Rosina (Neuharth) Loebs. Edmund's parents died when he was 4 years old and he was then adopted by Henry and Christina (Miller) Hausauer. He attended country school near Eureka. On April 24, 1934, he married Esther Hieb at Eureka, where they continued to live and farm until 1937, when they moved to Hecla, S.D. In 1949, they moved to the Hausauer family farm in Eureka and continued to farm there until 1968, when they moved to Aberdeen. Ed was self-employed and did odd jobs and carpentry work. Esther passed away on Aug. 16, 1997. At the time of his death, he was a resident of the Aberdeen Living Center. Ed enjoyed playing cards and going to dances. He was also an active member of the Eagles Lodge. Survivors include one son, Benjamin (Betty) Loebs of Amherst, S.D.; four daughters, Mildred Loebs of South Prairie, Wash., Carolyn Loebs of Aberdeen, S.D., Marilyn Jensen of El Paso, Texas, and Barbara (Ron) Berget of Clay Center, Kan.; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his adoptive parents; his wife; two sons, Charles and Tim; four grandchildren; one brother; two sisters; and one son-in-law. Casketbearers will be Robert Loebs, Ricky Loebs, Brian Loebs, Bruce Loebs, Blair Loebs and Denis Berget. Published in the Aberdeen News on 1/16/2005.
