Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids. The Rev. Jurdan Counts will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. Mr. Krings was born on Feb. 10, 1911, on a farm west of Cedar Rapids to Emil and Anna (Thelen) Krings. He was educated at Cedar Rapids schools. He married Evelyn Bourn on June 14, 1931, at Cedar Rapids. They lived and farmed southwest of Cedar Rapids throughout their marriage. She died on Aug. 19, 1986. He moved to Cloverlodge Care Center in April 1998. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids and served on the Farmer's Co-op board and the District 29 School board. Survivors include three sons, Dwain Krings and Francis Krings, both of Omaha, and Ron Krings of Cedar Rapids; five daughters, Mary (Mrs. Derek) Moffett of Omaha, Diane (Mrs. Gerald) Osantowski of Clarks and Gwen (Mrs. Marv) Murcek, Beverly (Mrs. Jon) Weil and Barbara (Mrs. George) Sturgill, all of Columbus; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mildred Cox of Omaha and Regina Langan of Marengo, Ill.; and one brother, Richard Krings of Cedar Rapids.
