Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. CDT Wednesday, July 2, at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Hebron. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Hebron, with military honors by Henry Biffert Post No. 100 of the American Legion. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. CDT Tuesday at the church with vigil services at 7 p.m. CDT. Edmund was born in the Haymarsh area April 12, 1919, the son of Anton and Mathilda (Wehri) Quintus. He was raised on the family farm and educated at St. Clement's School. Ed was inducted into the U.S. Army March 20, 1942, and trained at Camp Barkeley, Texas. He was a member of the 90th TO Infantry Division and was in on the second wave of the army's invasion on the Normandy beaches, D-Day, June 1944. He fought in the European theatre of war the rest of that year and into the winter months and the following spring. He was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart for valor on the battle field. Following his discharge Oct. 4, 1945, Edmund returned to the Haymarsh area and farmed on the family farm with his dad and his brother, Norbert. He would later be in partnership farming with his brother, Wilfred, who also resided on the family farm. On Nov. 25, 1978, Ed married Claribel Viestenz at Jamestown. Following marriage they resided in Hebron. Ed was active in American Legion of Hebron, The Brick City Senior Citizens and was a Fourth Degree in Knights of Columbus.
