RIESBERG, of Carroll, Iowa, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 10, 2008, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll, Iowa. Mr. Riesberg, 89, died Wednesday, Oct. 8, at Regency Park nursing home in Carroll, Iowa. The Revs. Timothy Johnson and Dale Reiff will concelebrate the Mass. Lectors will be Shirley Tomka and Barb Mueller. Eucharistic ministers will be Bonnie Langel, Laurie Mikkelsen and Marilyn Steinkamp. Gift bearers will be Barb Mueller and Adella Vogl. Music will be by organist Barb McDermott and the Holy Spirit choir. Casket bearers will be Art Riesberg, Howard Weitl, Ron Langel, Edward Hoffman, Dale Heider and Leon Heider. BURIAL WITH MILITARY HONORS, by the Carroll American Legion will be in HOLY ANGELS CEMETERY, at Roselle, Carroll County, Iowa. Visitation started at 4 and a rosary was prayed at 5 this afternoon at Ohde Twit Funeral Home in Carroll, Iowa. A vigil will be held at 6:30 tonight at the funeral home. A SON OF Ben and Amelia (MILLER) RIESBERG, he was born April 25, 1919, at Roselle, Carroll County,Iowa, attended Holy Angels School there, then worked on his family's farm. MR. RIESBERG enlisted in the Army on Aug. 11, 1942, and served as an anti-aircraft artillery specialist in the Philippines during WORLD WAR II. He returned home to farm. He retired in 1980 moved to Regency Park in 2004. He enjoyed sharing military stories and driving new cars. SURVIVORS INCLUDE three sisters: Ella Weitl of Templeton,Iowa; Hilda Heider of Humboldt, Iowa; and Clara "Bonnie" Langel of Carroll, Iowa; and a sister-in-law, Marie Riesberg, of Carroll, Iowa. Mr. Riesberg was PRECEDED IN DEATH BY his parents; three brothers: Herbert and William Riesberg, and Albert Riesberg in infancy; two sisters: Irene Riesberg and Laura Hoffman; a sister-in-law, Mary Riesberg; and three brothers-in-law: Andrew Hoffman, Merle Heider and Ted Langel.
