Edna Belle Reese, daughter of George and Ada Reese, was born in Eckford, Michigan, April 17, 1874; and died after a short illness in Lexington, on October 28, 1957, aged 83 years, six months, eleven days. As a little girl she came with her parents to a homestead near Plum Creek. She prepared for a teaching career in Fremont Normal School, and taught rural schools near Gothenberg and Lexington. In 1892 she marred E. B. Reynolds. Four of their children survived their mother; Ada Magnuson, Warren Reynolds and Sevilla Fagot of Lexington, and Ruth Reynolds of Indianapolis, Indiana. With her husband, two children have preceded her: Erma Vere and Ralph. Nine grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren survive. Mrs. Reynolds was a lifelong member of the Lexington Christian Church, and served it in many ways. For a period of 29 consecutive years she was a Bible School class teacher; she served the church as Treasurer and as President of the Missionary Society; and her country community as a school board member. Just one week before the services in her honor, she attended the meeting of the Women's Council of the church, entering the hospital during the evening of the same day. Death came four days later, just a few minutes after her daughter, Ruth, had read to her from her own well-marked Bible, the words of Ecclesiastes 2: "For everything there is a season and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, a time to die ..."
