She was the daughter of Edward and Carrie (Nicholyason) Larsen in Grinnell, Iowa. She attended country schools in the Grinnell area and later graduated from Grinnell High School. She received her teacher's normal school certification from Grinnell College and went on to teach at country schools in the Grinnell area for over two years. Read More	IN LOVING MEMORY OF * Edna Caroline (Larsen) Felper was born on Saturday; May 6, 1922 in Grinnell; Poweshiek County, Iowa. She was the daughter of Edward and Carrie (Nicholyason) Larsen in Grinnell, Iowa. She attended country schools in the Grinnell area and later graduated from Grinnell High School. She received her teacher's normal school certification from Grinnell College and went on to teach at country schools in the Grinnell area for over two years. She married Bernard Felper March 29, 1941 in Missouri. The couple resided in Grinnell for a few years, moved to Newton then to Colfax and moved to a farm near Liscomb in 1956. In 1963 the couple settled in Albion. Edna went to beauty school in later life and became the owner and operator of Linda's beauty shop in Albion for over 20 years. Edna remained in Liscomb till 2007 at which time she moved into a home next to her Daughter, Linda in Des Moines. Edna enjoyed crocheting and made many Afghans and baby blankets over the years. She especially liked gathering with and cooking for her family, who enjoyed her skill at making a variety of pies and especially her homemade noodles. Edna also loved to fish and in her younger years was an avid bowler. Edna Caroline (Larsen) Felper, age 87, passed away on Monday; February 22, 2010 at the Karen Acres Health Care Center in Urbandale; Polk County, Iowa. Those left to mourn her passing are: Her daughter; Linda (Robert) Bailey of Des Moines, four grandchildren; Kallen (Kimberly) Bailey of St. Louis, Missouri, Kari (Michael) Ward of Des Moines, Kendall (Jennifer) Bailey of Clive, Iowa, Kyle Bailey of Des Moines, eight great –grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In eternal life she joins her Husband Bernard who died in 1996, three brothers; Ludwig, Elmer, and George Larsen, five sisters; Mabel Evans, Agnes Snodgrass, Olga Carpenter, Amelia Kaisand and Gladys Cormichel. I'm the last of nine Edna often declared. May they rest in peace. Visitation will be from: 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Friday; February 26 2010 at the funeral home. Funeral services will begin at: 2:00 p.m. on Friday; February 26, 2010 at the Pursel-Davis Funeral Home in Marshalltown; Marshall County, Iowa. Interment will be at the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery also in Marshalltown, Iowa.
