In 1972 she retired as a school cook and has since lived in Sac City and Odebolt. Edna was called to her eternal rest on Oct 28, 1987 at Horn Memorial Hospital in Ida Grove at the age of 80 years. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters: Eleanor Ritzmann and Lucille Minnis and an infant daughter, Patricia. She is survived by her daughter, Lois Ziegmann of Odebolt; two sisters: Mrs Mabel Brown and Mrs Irene Lentz; two brothers Martin and Kenneth Mauer; three grandsons: Mark and Craig Sommerfeld and Neil Ziegmann; and 5 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Oct 30, 1987 at 10 at St Paul's Lutheran Church in Sac City. Burial was in the Wall Lake Cemetery.∼Edna C. Gerdes, born 1907, died 1987, mother.
