Description	:	Edna C. Kuehl, age 97, of Huron, died Monday, April 26, 2010 at the Sunquest Healthcare Center. Her Burial will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 1, at the Riverside Cemetery in Huron with a Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 1, at the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Huron. Visitation will be Friday, April 30, from 1-8 p.m. at the Welter Funeral Home in Huron, with the family present from 6-8 p.m. Friday night. Kuehl, age 97, of Huron, died Monday, April 26, 2010 at the Sunquest Healthcare Center. Edna Clara Ulrich, the daughter of Gustav and Minnie (Steffen) Ulrich, was born on March 31, 1913 on the Ulrich Homestead near Osceola, SD. Edna attended rural school and graduated from Iroquois High School in 1932. She received her teaching certificate from Northern State College in 1934. Edna married Erhard W. Kuehl on May 30, 1937 at the Trinity Lutheran Church near Yale, SD. She had been a resident of Huron for 73 years. Edna was a teacher for 4 years, worked in childcare for 12 years, and worked at both the Home Bakery and O.P. Skaggs for many years. She did volunteer work for the Violet Tschetter Memorial Home and the Adjustment Training Center, volunteering for as many as 25 hours a week. Edna was given a certificate of appreciation from Governor Miller in recognition of her many hours of volunteer work. Edna was a member of the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, the Marthas Circle, and the Lutheran Womens Misionary League. She was a former member of the B.P.W. for 15 years, and a member of the RSVP. Edna was also a Den Mother with the Boy Scouts for 8 years. Grateful for having shared in her life are her son, Max (Jan) Kuehl of Coon Rapids, MN; 4 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; her sister Doris Tulare of LaCrosse, WI; and her many nieces and nephews. Edna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Erhard in 1962; her son Wayne in 2006; 3 brothers, Werner (Mike), George, and Ralph Ulrich; and 4 sisters, Ruth Reinschmidt, Irma Boetel, Alice Phillips, and Helen Murphy. Memorials may be made in Ednas name to the Marthas Circle at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Chruch, Lutheran Bible Translators, or to the Violet Tschetter Memorial Home.
