Description	:	Edna Norris, daughter of Mary and Harrison Hudson, was born on December 19, 1877, at LaPorte City, Ia. She passed away at the York hospital June 5, 1953, at the age of 76 years, 5 months and 17 days. At the age of eight she moved with her parents to a farm near Eagle, Neb., where she lived until her marriage to Travis Crabtree. Read More	Edna Norris, daughter of Mary and Harrison Hudson, was born on December 19, 1877, at LaPorte City, Ia. She passed away at the York hospital June 5, 1953, at the age of 76 years, 5 months and 17 days. At the age of eight she moved with her parents to a farm near Eagle, Neb., where she lived until her marriage to Travis Crabtree. They resided on a farm near Eagle, later moving into town, where Mr. Crabtree engaged in business until ill health forced him to retire. She was a devoted mother to her little step-son, Conrad, who was only six years of age at the time, raising him to young manhood. Mr. Crabtree passed away January 10, 1916, and she continued to operate a cream station until the death of her father in July, 1919, when she gave up this occupation to care for her invalid mother. July 26, 1922, she was united in marriage to Talmage Norris, moving to Illinois, where Mr. Norris was engaged in farming. They moved to Fairmont in 1925, and have resided here since that time. Mrs. Norris again took on the care of her mother at various times until Mrs. Hudson's death in 1928. Last July Mr. and Mrs. Norris celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary with a dinner at noon for friends, entirely prepared by Mrs. Norris. Mrs. Norris was always interesed in church and neighborhood affairs. She was baptized in the Methodist faith, and attended that church when health permitted. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Star Rebekah Lodge No. 8 of Fairmont. "Mom" Norris, as she was affectionately called by her friends, was a loving and devoted wife. She leaves to mourn her passing, her sorrowing husband; a sister, Mrs. Alta Deason of Lincoln; three nieces, Mrs. Hazel Barrett of Lincoln, Mrs. Rowland Coffman of LIncoln and Mrs. Edna Rorabaugh of Hastings; her step-daughter-in-law, Mrs. Essie Crabtree of Hastings; three grandchildren; Raymond Crabtree, Margaret Skogg and Kenneth Crabtree, all of Hastings; also many friends and neighbors. She was preceded in death by two brothers, B.J. Hudson of Eagle and Will Hudson of Fairmont, and a step-son, Conrad Crabtree. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Norman Smitheram Tuesday morning at the Kritnerj-Ashby Funeral Home and Tuesday afternoon at the Eagle Methodist church, with Rebekah services at the grave. Interment was in the Eagle cemetery. Oliver Moul sang "Going Down the Valley" and "Beyond the Sunset." Mrs. A.P. Stewart was the pianist. Pallbearers were Francis McMahon, Clyde Jacobsen, Kenneth Moore, Robert Halsey, Everett Nichols and Ralph Lefler.
