Description	:	Edna (Padgett) Lewis, 90, of Windsor House, Spartanburg, SC, formerly of Chesnee, SC, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, May 30, 2013. She was the wife of the late Reverend C. Ray Lewis and the daughter of the late Reverend William Rigby Padgett and Lugenia Fortenberry Padgett. She attended Central Wesleyan College and served in ministry by her husband's side for 58 years. Read More	Edna (Padgett) Lewis, 90, of Windsor House, Spartanburg, SC, formerly of Chesnee, SC, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, May 30, 2013. She was the wife of the late Reverend C. Ray Lewis and the daughter of the late Reverend William Rigby Padgett and Lugenia Fortenberry Padgett. She attended Central Wesleyan College and served in ministry by her husband's side for 58 years. The list of the churches she served with Reverend Lewis include: Glenville Wesleyan Church, Chesnee Wesleyan Church, Spartanburg First Wesleyan Church and Pelzer Wesleyan Church. Ms. Lewis set a high bar of Christian service in the churches and communities in which she served. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed growing fruits, vegetables and flowers. She created beautiful floral arrangements for every Sunday church service. She loved baking and decorating cakes for all occasions and holidays. Ms. Lewis is survived by her son, Roger Lewis and wife Bonnie of Spartanburg, SC; her daughter, J. Carol Gardner and husband Robert of Charleston, SC; three grandchildren, Beth Dougherty and husband, Doug; Allison Waugh and husband, Ethan; and Meredith Savage and husband, Steven; and seven great-grandchildren, Vivian and Rachel Dougherty; Spencer, Carter, Parker and Connor Waugh and Addison Savage. She is survived by two sisters, Sarah Robertson of Greer and Flora Jolley of Cooley Springs. She was predeceased by her sister, Lilie Mae Bryans of Lyman; and her brother, William Padgett of Atlanta. Visitation was held 1:30-2:45 p.m. on Sunday, June 2, 2013, at Eden Wesleyan Church, 3271 Peach Tree Road, Chesnee, SC 29323. Funeral Service followed at 3:00 p.m. with burial following in the Eden Wesleyan Church Cemetery. Reverend Jimmy Wiggins, Reverend Richard Hall and Reverend Buddy Rampey officiated. Memorials could be made to Amedisys of Spartanburg, 818 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29303. The family wishes to give a special thanks to the wonderful care givers of Windsor House in Spartanburg and the staff of Amedisys.
