Description	:	Gaffney, S.C. - - Edna Garner Goudelock, 97, of 108 Mendel Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born in Union, but a lifelong residence of Cherokee County, she was the widow of the late Mendel Lafayette Goudelock for 53 years and the daughter of the late James Garner and Lillie Foster Garner. Mrs. Goudelock retired from textiles, was a homemaker, and was a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for over 60 years. She was dedicated to her family and to her Church. Surviving... Read More	Gaffney, S.C. - - Edna Garner Goudelock, 97, of 108 Mendel Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born in Union, but a lifelong residence of Cherokee County, she was the widow of the late Mendel Lafayette Goudelock for 53 years and the daughter of the late James Garner and Lillie Foster Garner. Mrs. Goudelock retired from textiles, was a homemaker, and was a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for over 60 years. She was dedicated to her family and to her Church. Surviving are two sons, James (Jimmy) Goudelock and wife, Delores, of Cayce, S.C. and Mike Goudelock and wife, Deborah, of Granite Falls, N.C.; three daughters, Mary Ann Duncan and husband, Richard, Jane Flythe and husband, Jim, and Nancy McAbee and husband, Jack, all of Gaffney; seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by four sisters. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Rehoboth Baptist Church. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Church with Rev. Darrell Revels, Rev. Bob White and Mr. Mark Goudelock officiating. Interment will be in the El Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to: Rehoboth Baptist Church, 110 Rehoboth Road, Gaffney, S.C. 29340 or Cherokee Co. Childrens Home, P.O. Box 1896, Gaffney, S.C. 29342 or to the charity of one’s choice. The family will be at the residence, 108 Mendel Drive, Gaffney.
