Description	:	Edna L. Hilmer, daughter of Ruel and Bertha (Winfrey) Glines, was born Sept. 7, 1930, on a farm near Wolbach. She entered into rest on Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018, at Brookefield Park in St. Paul at the age of 87 years. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2018, at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul. The Rev. Cat Love will be officiating. Inurnment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery. Edna attended school in Wolbach and graduated in 1947. She taught rural school for four years, then worked for Dr. Roemmich for a couple of years. She met and married Edward Hilmer in 1954 and lived on the family farm near Boelus, where she raised two children, Kenneth and Jane. Edna worked at Howard County Hospital for twelve years and retired in 1987. Edna enjoyed painting, playing the guitar and organ, reading and doing crossword puzzles. She also liked to play on the computer. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in St. Paul and the Art Guild. Survivors include a daughter, Jane Wortman of Boelus; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Arnold and Jeannie Glines of Grand Island and Art and Barb Glines of Central City. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ed; a son, Kenneth Hilmer; a son-in-law, John Wortman; and a sister and brother-in-law, Ella and Bob Luft.
