Edna passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Community Pride Care Center in Battle Creek. Stonacek Funeral Chapel in Norfolk is in charge of the arrangements. Edna L. Kollmar was born Dec. 3, 1924, west of Hadar, the daughter of Leonard and Minnie (Hohneke) Conrad. Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hadar was the site of her baptism on April 13, 1925, and later, her confirmation. She attended School Distrct 15 in Hadar. On Jan. 11, 1946, she married Daniel Kollmar at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hadar. They farmed west of Hadar. In 1950, they moved to a farm south of Pierce. In 1980, they then moved to Norfolk. Edna worked six years at Norfolk Senior Center. In September 1989, she started working at the Improved Living food bank. Edna enjoyed working on the farm, watching TV, playing bingo, sewing, embroidery and doing word puzzles. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Norfolk. Survivors include a daughter, Donna (Lester) Wragge of Grand Island; a son, Garold (Linda) Kollmar of Norfolk; a son, Fred (Deb) Kollmar of Norfolk; a daughter, Gloria Bethards of Burwell; a son-in-law, William Schaller of Norfolk; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Minnie; her spouse, Daniel, who passed away on June 6, 1991; a daughter, Velda Schaller; two brothers; three sisters; and three grandchildren. Organist for the funeral will be Tetsuya Sugita, playing musical selections “In The Garden,” “Old Rugged Cross” and “How Great Thou Art.” Casket bearers will be her grandsons: Brian Wragge, Jason Kollmar, Kyle Kollmar, Matt Bethards, Adam Bethards and Ben Schaller.
