Description	:	Edna Hochhalter, age 85 of New Leipzig, passed away on Wednesday morning, November 18, 2009 at St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck. The Funeral Service for Edna will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, November 21, 2009 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Leipzig. Pastor John Amundson will officiate with burial in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery at New Leipzig. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday afternoon. EDNA LEAH ROEHL was born on June 24, 1924 to John and Justina Roehl near New Leipzig, ND. She grew up on the family farm and attended school in New Leipzig and was confirmed in the Trinity-Heupel North Church. She was married to Rueben Hochhalter on November 4, 1945 and they lived on the farm south of New Leipzig until retiring in 1981, when they sold the farm to their son. Rueben and Edna moved into New Leipzig. Rueben passed away on November 22, 2000. Edna continued to enjoy gardening; jig saw puzzles, puzzle books and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Edna is survived by her children; daughter, Sharon Savor, New Leipzig, ND, son and daughter-in-law, Lyle (Lucia) Hochhalter, Dickinson, ND; four grandchildren, Kelly (Stephanie) Hochhalter, Wilton, ND, Shannon (Derick) Welk, Bemidji, MN, Shayla (Justin) Ingold, Hazen, ND and Kyle Hochhalter and fiance, Brianna Eslinger, Dickinson, ND; four great grandchildren, Gage and Cassydy Hochhalter and Kayla, Grace and Camdyn Ingold; three sisters, Elsie Hintz, Dickinson, Lucille Straub, Fargo, ND and Leona (Elmer) Wutzke, Bismarck, ND. Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Rueben, her parents, John and Justina Roehl, two brothers, Emil and Edwin Roehl and two sisters, Martha Iszler and Viola Roehl.
