Description	:	*Edna L. (Benshoof) Wikstrom, 89, passed peacefully to her TRUE HOME with the LORD JESUS on Friday, October 25, 2013 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, Iowa. Edna was born in Madrid, Iowa on August 14, 1924 to Mary Charlotte (Walker*) Benshoof and Dixon Benshoof, Sr. On August 22, 1942 Edna married the Love of Her Life, Irwin Otto Wikstrom in Madrid. Edna was born in Madrid, Iowa on August 14, 1924 to Mary Charlotte (Walker*) Benshoof and Dixon Benshoof, Sr. On August 22, 1942 Edna married the Love of Her Life, Irwin Otto Wikstrom in Madrid. She followed him during WWII to various Air Force Bases. Upon the end of WWII, Irwin and Edna settled back on the Family Farm NE of Madrid where they raised their Family until 1964 when they moved into the town of Madrid. Upon their retirement, they lived between Madrid and Sun City AZ from 1985 - 2007 when they then settled back in Iowa near their youngest daughter & her Family in Eldridge, Iowa. Edna enjoyed being involved in many organizations and activities throughout her life and until the end, always wanted to be on the go and "Go Out" each and everyday. Edna was always active throughout their decades in Madrid at the Madrid EV Free Church holding many positions in the Church. Edna loved her lady clubs ...Chit Chat Club which started in the 1940's with a group of Farm Wives, Blue Bird Mother's Club with a group of Madrid Mother's, and McRay's Bowling Team. Edna also worked many years as a Bookkeeper and did Office work in Madrid, IA and Sun City, AZ. In Edna's retirement years she was devoted to Volunteering. She volunteered at the Madrid Home for the Aging and Edna earned her 2000 Hour Volunteer Pin at the Senior Center in Sun City , AZ. Edna is survived by her Very Loving & Devoted Husband of 71 YEARS, Irwin; Daughter-In-Law Kathy Wikstrom Hunter of Moscow, Idaho; Son Roger ( Elaine) Wikstrom Of Hampton, MN; Daughter Carol (Jim) Benson of Egan, MN; Daughter Diane (Brian) of Long Grove, IA. 9 GrandChildren, 10 Great GrandChildren with an 11th soon to arrive, and One Remaining sibling, her Sister Evelyn Surface of Reinbeck, IA; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Edna is preceded in death by her Beloved Son Donald I. Wikstrom; Parents, 5 Sisters ( an infant sister, Iowa, Harriet, Mary Thelma, & Sarah) 2 Brothers ( Dixon Jr. & Bill ), and her very close niece, Mary Lou Cavender.
