Description	:	Edna Louise Damson Marottek, 98, passed away peacefully September 29, 2006 at Sidney Extended Care Health Center. Edna was born June 21, 1908 in Holland, MI to Carl and Helena Damson, who had ten children, all of whom are deceased. They homesteaded south of the Missouri River at Poplar in 1918. On Nov 19, 1924, in Wolf Point MT she married Frank Marottek, Sr. and they lived on their farm near her parents. Read More	Edna Louise Damson Marottek, 98, passed away peacefully September 29, 2006 at Sidney Extended Care Health Center. Edna was born June 21, 1908 in Holland, MI to Carl and Helena Damson, who had ten children, all of whom are deceased. They homesteaded south of the Missouri River at Poplar in 1918. On Nov 19, 1924, in Wolf Point MT she married Frank Marottek, Sr. and they lived on their farm near her parents. Six children were born to this union, Frank Jr., Elizabeth (Betty), Mildred, twins Della and Delbert (Pete), and Maxwell. She was a homemaker, sewed many quilts for her family, and raised a big garden until her husband retired. After Frank retired, they lived in Culbertson and Poplar. Frank passed away October 31, 1986. She was a resident at the Harada House in Wolf Point for a short time. She lived the last two years at the Extended Care Center in Sidney. Edna touched the lives of so many people. Her grandchildren and young people were always welcome at her home and she was an inspiring influence to them. She was known to many of the kids as the Cookie Grandma. Edna was a wonderful cook and always had family dinners where everyone was welcome. She especially enjoyed the birthday parties hosted by her granddaughter Rosann Elvsaas and attended by many friends and relatives. Edna was preceded in death by her husband Frank, parents, her brothers, sisters, infant son, Maxwell and granddaughter Lori Marottek Tollefson. She is survived by sons Frank, Jr. (Mertice) and Pete, all of Poplar; daughters Betty Borden of Charlo, MT, Mildred Cory of Wolf Point, and Della (Barlow) Colgan of Poplar; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
