Description	:	Edna M. Davis, 75, died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 1988, at her home. The funeral will be at 2 pm Sunday at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Yale, with the Rev. John Christensen officiating. Burial will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Yale. Friends may call Friday evening and Saturday evening at the Welter Funeral Home. Hofer was born Dec. 8, 1912 at Freeman to Mike K. and Anna (Gross) Hofer. She graduated from Huron High School in 1934, and Freeman Junior College in 1935. She taught at Ackerman school near Yale for one year. She married Abraham Weidner Oct. 25, 1936 at Yale. They made their home near Yale, except for one year at Racine, Wis. He died Aug. 10, 1943, and she moved to Yale. She married Mark J. Davis September 26, 1948 in Cavour. They lived on a farm near Yale. He died Feb. 16, 1974. In 1975 she moved to Huron. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Yale. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Quentin and Barbara Weidner, of Pocahontas, Iowa, Larry and LaDonna Weidner, of East Lansing, Mich., and Ronald and Paulette Weidner, of Yale; one daughter and son-in-law, Deanna and Jerald Bowes and Okanogan, Wash.; one stepson and his wife, Jerald and Florence Davis, Tappahannock, Va.; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Tracy, Todd, and David Weidner, Brett Weidner and his wife Wendy, Brian Bowes, Tammy Quinn and her husband, Norm, Desiree Bowes, and Lea Weidner; one great grandson, Ryan Weidner; five brothers, Jake M. Hofer of Huron; George M. Hofer of Elma, Wash.; Melvin D. Hofer of Riverdale, ND, and Clarence J. Hofer of Huron; two sisters, Mary Tschetter of Des Moines, Iowa, and Mrs. Clinton (Grace) Horning of Huron. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Michael Davis, her parents, two brothers, Walter M. Hofer, and Edward M. Hofer, and two sisters. Daily Plainsman- 1/1988
