Description	:	YAKIMA - Edna Mae Crow, 93 of Yakima, is now absent from her body and present with her Lord. She was born May 4, 1913 in a sod house in Tryon, NE to Elmer F. and Nellie F. Read More	YAKIMA - Edna Mae Crow, 93 of Yakima, is now absent from her body and present with her Lord. She was born May 4, 1913 in a sod house in Tryon, NE to Elmer F. and Nellie F. (Johnston) Downing. She attended Maxwell and Sutherland Schools in Nebraska. The eldest of four children growing up on the family farm, she was the one who worked the fields with her father. She married Clarence E. Crow, Sr. on July 7, 1933 in Sutherland, Nebraska. They moved to Spokane in 1937 and after several moves, they settled in Yakima in 1944. She loved and served the Lord all her life and never said anything negative about anyone. Edna was a dedicated and active member of the First Nazarene Church (now New Hope Community Church). She was a Sunday School teacher and member of the church choir. When the church was under construction, she would cook meals for the workers, and in her later years she cooked for the senior citizen group. She was a person devoted to her family. She loved all children and took care of many, including grandchildren. She learned to play the piano by ear and often played for church and grandchildren. She was a great cook and her children still talk about their favorites of her dishes. Anything done for Mom, her response would be "now why would you go and do that!" with a twinkle and smile. While we loved and will miss Mom here, her humming will add to heaven's music. She worked 23 years for Snokist Cannery and retired in 1975. After retirement, she along with her husband, Clarence, were custodians for her church for eight years. She is survived by five sons, Carl F. Crow (Donna), Clarence E. Crow, Jr., (Linda), James R. Crow (Mary), Marion A. Crow (Rhonda) all of Yakima and John W. Crow (Joyce) of Phoenix, AZ; sixteen grandchildren, Dean R. Crow of Yakima, Donald L. Crow (Karen) of Fort Mill, SC, Daryl E. Crow (Debbie) of Spokane, WA, Sean M. Crow (Melissa) of Nampa, ID, Melissa R. Wood (Glen), Manchester, England, Gregory D. Mitchell (Mari) of Boise, ID, Greta J. Vaughan (Ken) of Auburn, CA, David A. Crow (Renee) and Benjamin P. Crow (Mystena) of Queen Creek, AZ, Michael L. Crow (Julissa) of Pasco, WA, Kim R. Crow of Tacoma, WA, Chad R. Crow (Cindy), Shawnda M. Crow, Jamie Mullins (Debra), Angela Mitchell (Ryan) all of Yakima, WA, Jeremy Carmichael (Kelly) of Bellevue, WA; and twenty-nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer F. and Nellie F. Downing, her husband, Clarence E. Crow, Sr., five children, Leona A. Crow, Wilbur L. Crow, Elmer F. Crow, Joyce L. (Crow) Mitchell, Robert E. Crow, three sisters, Pearl M. Ragland, Jennie F. Speicher, and Hazel V. Scheline. Visitation will be held from Noon until 5:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday at Keith & Keith 9th Ave Chapel. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 5, 2006 at West Valley Church of the Nazarene. Concluding services will be held at West Hills Memorial Park.
