Edna was born to Ole and Edith Mosness on March 16, 1918, on the Old Forman place outside of Big Timber. She was the second of 15 children and often took care of her brothers and sisters. As a child, she went to McNee School, Duck Creek School, Stole School, and Big Timber Grade School. She began working at 15, cooking on nearby ranches. She married Oscar Nelson in 1938 and they lived in Springdale for 65 years. She worked hard all of her life, at the Springdale Post Office, many years at the Springdale Store and the Frosty Freez. She never had children, but she enjoyed spoiling all of her nieces and nephews and the neighborhood children. Everyone called her "Auntie". Everyone was welcome in her home and no one went away hungry. She was the family caretaker and historian. She had countless prayers for spouses, nieces, nephews, friends, neighbors and their families. Edna was preceded in death by her husband Oscar, her parents Ole and Edith Mosness, her sisters Bonnie, Lillian, Edith, Elen, and brothers Lennard, Rudy, Carl, Donald, Ole, and Osmund. She is survived by her brothers Kenneth (Sharon), Arnold, Bjarne and sister Selma (Forest) Gibby, and many nieces and nephews.
