Description	:	POLSON - Edna Marie "Eddie" Mohler, 77, of Polson, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Jan. 20, 2002. Edna passed away at her home after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was born on April 7, 1924, in Odessa, Neb., to Peter and Elsie Ludden. She attended schools in Nebraska, graduating from Ashland (Neb.) High School. On Oct. 14, 1945, Edna married Melvin Mohler in Wann, Neb. She worked as a nurse's aide in Lincoln, Neb., and at the University of Nebraska Dairy Store while Mel attended the University of Nebraska. Edna passed away at her home after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was born on April 7, 1924, in Odessa, Neb., to Peter and Elsie Ludden. She attended schools in Nebraska, graduating from Ashland (Neb.) High School. On Oct. 14, 1945, Edna married Melvin Mohler in Wann, Neb. She worked as a nurse's aide in Lincoln, Neb., and at the University of Nebraska Dairy Store while Mel attended the University of Nebraska. Edna had many artistic talents, including floral design and crafts, and she was an excellent seamstress. In 1955 Edna and Melvin moved to Miles City, where Mel was assistant director of the Pine Hills School for Boys for many years. They moved to the Swan Valley in 1968 and Mel became director of the Swan River Youth Camp. After they retired, they moved to Polson in 1994. She was member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Her first ancestor in the United States was one of the original colonists. Edna was eligible for the Colonial Dames. She was active in Extension work and 4-H. She had a beautiful soprano voice. A devoted Christian, she attended the New Life Christian Center in Polson. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and two brothers. She is survived her husband Mel of Polson; son Michael Mohler of Puyallup, Wash.; daughter Merriam Burke of Kalispell; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, John Ludden of Lincoln, Neb., and Robert Ludden of Colorado Springs, Colo.; sister Ruth Webb of Kearney, Neb.; and numerous adoring nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the Lake County Health and Hospice, 771 Main S.W., Ronan, MT 59864.
